The 800MW Three Gorges Jiaozuo Wind Solar Complementary Power Station project is a large-scale renewable energy project initiated and constructed by China Three Gorges Corporation, located in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. The total installed capacity of this project reaches 800 megawatts (MW), combining wind and solar power generation technologies, making it a typical wind solar complementary power station. The core goal of the project is to achieve all-weather, stable and reliable power supply by utilizing the complementarity of wind and solar energy, while promoting the development of renewable energy, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and lowering carbon emissions.

Wind solar complementary power station is a distributed power system that combines wind and solar power generation. This project converts wind and solar energy into electrical energy through wind turbines and solar cell arrays, and stores it in batteries. After being converted into AC power by an inverter, it is supplied to users for use. The system mainly consists of four parts: power generation, storage, control, and power supply, ensuring all-weather power generation capacity and suitable for various power shortage scenarios.

The wind power generation part uses wind turbines to convert wind energy into electrical energy, while the solar power generation part converts light energy into electrical energy through solar cell arrays. These two power generation methods are supplemented by wind energy during nighttime and rainy days when there is no sunlight, and by solar energy during sunny days, achieving optimized allocation and complementary utilization of resources.
